Puerto Rico, la Isla del Encanto

Hi everyone, I went to Puerto Rico last year in 2010 this time by myself, because I wanted to concentrate on certain parts of the island so that I can get an idea of what Iam shooting at so that I can build my album. I haven't finished yet because of many distractions, but eventually I will. This picture you see on the right is located in San Juan El Morro San Felipe. Actually I shot this picture back in 2007 when I took my daughter along when she was just only 13 years old.

I took her along so that she can get an idea where I was born and the places I've been as a little boy growing up and up to we all came to live in America. I wanted for her to know her true roots and her Puerto Rican Culture. Actually what I had planned for her was, that as soon as she walks out the airport she can feel the heat of the sun as it welcomes you to this beautiful island Called Puerto Rico. I wanted her to feel that same welcome that everyone receives who walks out the airport to grab a taxi. What I love mostly about my island is the colors the houses are painted with: Pastel colors, Blue, red, yellow, green, teal, light green, dark green and different kinds of shades, and that's what I believe makes the island so beautiful everywhere you go. It makes the island come alive and with the fragrances in the air and the beaches and lakes and houses sitting on top of high hills that makes you wonder how in the world do they get up there and come down. You have to go to Puerto Rico and be enchanted by this island.

Racist Comments

This story is about a man. A developer who has a heart to change a neighborhood. A man that wants change. A man that wants to kick out drug sellers as buyers. A man with power.

He's name is Kevin Barry. He belongs to a group called, "The Maribella Group"

Do you know that Kevin Barry is a racist?

I was surprised to hear that. I couldn't believe it.

I walked in into my best friend's fast-food restaurant, El Coqui last week on Thursday evening, right after work. I met kevin and he seems quite a nice guy, but what lies inside his heart, is quite another story.

A while back, in Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY, he said some unwelcomed words that really got some residence in the area so mad that they chased him into the Beauty Supply store located next to 35 Victory Blvd.

What made these folks chase Kevin?

He said, "I don't want niggers and Puerto Ricans in this neighborhood."
Well, you might argue and say that's impossible. Well, there are several eye and ears witnesses that can prove that he said such words.
If you want people out of there ( because he bought some building there and he's planning to develop the area for the good), do it the right way.

I also believe that he wants all the druggies out of there and I agree with him. He's doing a great job. I think that those drug addicts and sellers should get kicked out.

But to say words such as these, "I don't want niggers and Puerto Ricans in this neighborhood" Those are pretty strong words. "I dont' want" that says alot to me.
It proves that this white thing against blacks and Puerto Ricans, is not over.

This old hatred. This thing that hate blacks and Puerto Ricans, really tells me that we live in a very dangerous world. It also tells me that Kevin might be a very dangerous man if left to himself, I believe, there wouldn't be any blacks or Puerto Rican in Staten Island.
Shame on him.
